The Tier II Tournament was one of the most competitive tournaments in many years with any of the six teams being able to win the championship as most of the games were decided by one or two goals.

TBB from Ontario took top spot, and was the only team to go undefeated in the round robin and would face the Molson 67s in one of the semi’s. The 67’s were happy to get another shot at them after losing to them 2-0 in the Tier II opening game.

The other semi featured another home town favorite, Toothy Moose pitted against the Barrie Flyers in a rematch that saw Toothy Moose beat the Flyers by a score of 7-2. This didn't deter the Flyers from eliminating the Tier II Group A leaders 4-2 and move on to meet the winner of the TBB v Molson 67’s semi.

TBB opened the scoring in the first, but the 67s answered back with 3 of their own to take a 3-1 lead into the 2nd period. Less than thirty seconds in to the second TBB pulled to within one. The 67s managed to keep it a one goal game until six mins to go, when Dayton Sopha would tie it up at 3. The remainder of the second saw both teams try to avoid overtime, but to overtime would be required to decide a winner. In the overtime TBB took control, with plenty of chances, but Molson turned them away. Four minutes into overtime Brandon Brown tipped in the winner to send TBB to Sundays final.

The undefeated TBB and a determined Barrie Flyers would face off in an all Ontario final and the game wouldn’t disappoint.
Barrie came out (pardon the pun) flying right from the start and put two past the TBB goaltender before 2 minutes had run off the clock, and before the period finished Barrie would add another to head to the 2nd with a 3-0 lead. In the 2nd TBB would finally answer back with six minutes left in regulation, but that's all they would get as the Flyers would take the Tier II Canada Cup back to Barrie.
