Bradford, Canada - All roads lead to Bradford for the top U20 Girls prospects for the JTC program.
The destination of their pilgrimage took place on Saturday, December 16 in Bradford as 35 players attend the Prospects Camp which featured rigorous series of skill assessment drills inserted throughout the practices followed by scrimmages.
Stephen Dockerty, General Manager, who organized the camp, said, “we have representation from the six centers which will assist in growing the sport.” He continued, “interest in the camp will grow in future years and expanded as the sport grows.” “We have always used tournaments for the selection process, but this brings in the best players, as we have one location and all the scouts have been brought in. We have a captive audience and they can all watch and measure the skills of the players. This camp was about opportunity.”
“Ball Hockey is a great game but there isn’t enough opportunity for some smaller centre’s” Dockerty said. “These players all think about playing the game they love and the passion level is consistent among all the prospects.”
'The players have experienced success at all levels, be it with their houseleague or provincial teams and we will be ready Nitra and to represent our country.”
The team will be participating at the World Ball Hockey Federation Championships the week of June 25 to July 1 in Nitra, Slovakia along with the Boys U16, U18 and U20 teams
